Hug Your Food

I love this idea from Michelle Ivankovic and Adrienne McNicholas who first launched the Food Huggers on Kickstarter almost one year ago. The campaign was embraced and supported by over 5,400 individuals, raising more than $183,497 in just 30 days. Thanks to the success of the campaign, they are now available on

Have you hugged your food lately? Food Huggers wraps (hugs) leftover fruits and veggies to keep them fresh until you need them next time. Less wasted food is more fresh and healthy food enjoyed by your family. These reusable silicone covers reduce the need for plastic film, tin foil or baggies, all of which end up in landfills.
The patent pending design flexes to wrap snugly around leftovers of different sizes and shapes and each set comes with four different Food Huggers to ensure that every leftover half has a Food Hugger that fits. They are made with 100% FDA quality silicone, are 100% BPA and Phthalate free and dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe.

The team has also developed and launched a dedicated Avocado Hugger to help keep avocados fresh.  Avocado Huggers are sold in sets of two and have a specialized "pit pocket" that folds in or pops out depending if your half has its pit or not.
