Delicious, Fresh All-Natural Soups from Happy Planet

A sponsored hip + urban girl post.

By: Lisa Ng

When the weather starts to turn cold or if I’ve had a crazy week of work – my go-to comfort food is a nice big bowl of soup. I love something that’s hearty, warm and packed full of vegetables. Soup is the one thing I crave when I’ve had a weekend of eating junk food. It’s the simplicity of the whole thing that gets me back-to-basics.

I like to create a meal around my bowl of soup. Sometimes I add a side of steamed broccoli with crackers and cheese, other times I like to pair it with a turkey sandwich and a handful of chips. It’s a fast and easy meal that I can prepare for lunch or on a weeknight after a long day.

As much as I love making soup from scratch, it’s more often that I just don’t have the time. I discovered Happy Planet’s ready-to-heat soups in the refrigerator section of my local grocery store and fell in love with them instantly. Just open the package and pour into a pot. I usually pick up a package at the start of the week, so I have it as a meal option when I’m just too tired to cook. I like dressing it up with a few croutons, fresh scallions and chopped parsley.

Their fresh soups taste homemade without all the work and are made with premium, natural and certified organic ingredients. Happy Planet also offers gluten-free and vegetarian fresh soup options – 13 different varieties - and you won’t find any preservatives, artificial ingredients nor food colouring in any of them! There is nothing that you wouldn’t use yourself to make soup at home. Happy Planet fresh soups are made in small kettle batches, right here in Canada.
Their new, all-natural gluten-free Thai Chicken Soup is a globally-inspired soup made with chunks of organic chicken and green curry with hints of Thai basil and lemongrass. For those who love a bit of spice, this is a great twist on a classic.

For the purist, their new organic Kawartha Chicken Noodle Soup is a locally-inspired soup that uses organic chicken from farms in the Kawartha Lakes region in Ontario. Instead of traditional noodles, this soup is made with orzo, parsley and just a pinch of thyme.

Both of these new fresh soup flavours are available in stores now!
