Inspired by the Nutcracker ballet, Executive Chef Damon Campbell and his team of expert pastry chefs have created a special afternoon tea menu with themed Nutcracker pastries like Waltz of the Snowflakes - a peppermint scented milk chocolate mousse, cocoa sponge and white chocolate snow. The Battle of the Nutcracker and the Mouse King features a stollen spiced cheese cake with citrus bavarois and candied lemon; and the Drosselmeyer’s Entrance is a brown butter hazelnut financier, praline cream and dark chocolate glacage.
Other items include a selection of finger sandwiches including roasted turkey with cranberry preserve, honey baked ham with caramelized onion, Atlantic lobster and herb mayonnaise and truffle poached egg salad.
Desserts include tea cakes and scones served with clotted cream, house-made berry jam and citrus marmalade. A vegan option Nutcracker High Tea menu is also available.
The Nutcracker Afternoon Tea is $42 per person and is served daily from 2-5 pm in the Lobby Lounge. For reservations, 647-788-8888 or visit: Shangri-La Toronto online.
