Urban Eats @ Destingo Restaurant

By Wendy Kam Marcy

Between the exposed ceiling, brick walls and long cooper bar, a warm and welcoming dining room awaits at Destingo - a casual Italian restro that joined the Queen West strip about a year and half ago. The wine list is extensive and the menu is simple featuring an assortment of comfort foods from pizzas to pastas to fresh salads.

I attended their media event recently and had the chance to check out their Winterlicious menu. The food is fresh and delicious, and portion sizes are plentiful.

Here is a sample of what they are offering for their $25 Winterlicious dinner. These are their staple dishes that will continue to be on their regular menu...

Appetizer: Calamari Fritti with jalapeƱo aioli and Caprese Salad.

Main course: Spaghetti with spinach, artichoke, bell pepper and garlic aioli.

Main course: Pizza Margherita. The key to a really good pizza is the crust and they definitely nailed it so I highly recommend choosing this dish as your entree.

Dessert was a trio of tiramisu, a melt in your mouth hazelnut chocolate mousse and a warm apple strudel topped with a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream. On the Winterlicious menu, you get to chose only one so I definitely recommend the mousse.
