Spring Beauty Favourites

By: Lisa Ng

Spring is in the air and I have rounded-up a few of my beauty favourites for the season!

If you're planning on doing any sort of spring cleaning over the next few weeks - this is a great time to throw out any lipsticks you don't wear, mascara you've had for more than six months, anything cracked or broken and anything that smells funny. Start fresh! I'm as picky and thorough with the beauty products I keep as I am with keeping my closet organized.

Pare down to just what you really use and start adding back a few fun products to update your beauty routine. Here are a few of my choice beauty picks right now:

Curl Recovery Nourishing Cleansing Oil by Ouidad ($25) – I use a lot of product in my hair and this oil-based shampoo works really well in getting rid of the gunk and my naturally wavy hair looks healthier and moisturized afterwards. Works great for dry hair  and contains silk proteins and coconut oils. I haven't tried everything else in the line yet, but if you have hair that's looking brittle after a long winter I suggest booking a cut and using Ouidad's oil-based line to keep your hair looking healthy. Works great for eliminating frizz as well!

Luxury Skin Fuel by barelove Beauty ($58) – This all-natural and eco-friendly line from Ottawa, Canada features skin-friendly oils to help reduce the look of wrinkles and promote healthy radiant skin. I have been slathering on this night-time recovery treatment after removing my make-up in the evening and my face definitely feels softer the next day. It also smells like a creamsicle – so bonus points.

Clarins Ombre Minerale Eyehadow – I love the smoky plum colour of this mineral eyeshadow ($24). It can be worn ‘wet’ for a more intense look, but I choose to wear it ‘dry’ for a more natural day look. This eyeshadow is long-lasting, doesn’t crease or irritate my eyes and comes in a pretty gold compact.
Fig & Yarrow – My sister sent me this amazing Facial Care Kit ($74) and I’ve become a devoted fan of this wildcrafted skincare line out of Colorado. I’ve been using the cleansing nectar to remove make-up, then the complexion water to rebalance the pH of my skin and to calm any redness. I follow with the facial serum oil and then the yarrow buttercream. It’s an organic all-natural regimen made with botanical extracts and great for your travel case too.

What are your beauty favourites for spring?
