8 Must-Have Products From The Whole Life Expo

By Wendy Kam Marcy

I'm always on the hunt to find alternative products that are natural, eco-friendly and free of toxins (or names I can't pronounce) so it was like Christmas when I received a beautiful gift basket from our friends at the Whole Life Expo.

Filled with all kinds of edibles goodies and lifestyle products, I spent the week testing everything out and wanted to share with you my favourites...

Pukka Organic Teas

A cup of good tea really hits the spot for me. I really enjoy this brand because they have such a unique and vast selection ranging from fruity to calming to teas with a purpose - such as the After Dinner tea for soothing digestion and a balancing Womenkind tea. Full of flavourful herbal infusion, I just need one bag to make a big pot. Plus how pretty and cheerful is this package right? (Starting at $4)

Healthy Crunch Kale Chips

Kale chips has taken the guilt out of snacking for me! Made in small batches, they are crispy, well seasoned and I'm totally addicted to the smoky sweet Big Chipotle and Say Chesse flavours - which is vegan too! ($8)

Made Good Granola Minis

These are my son's favourite snacks and they are definitely mom-approved! Each pack contains one full serving of vegetables from six different sources, are non–GMO verified and comes in 3 flavours. I also love keeping them around my office desk and purse to satisfy those 3pm hunger pangs and sweet cravings. ($5 for 4 pouches)

Green Beaver Products

I've been using this Canadian brand's floride-free toothpastes and sunscreen for over a year now so it's no surprise that I also really like their beeswax lip balms and new line of body lotions. The lotion goes on light and dries quick so I'll probably use it more in the summer (or my upcoming vacation to Montego Bay)! Available in 3 delicious natural scents: lavender, cranberry and coconut. (Starting at $4)

Maiga Facial Scrub with Organic Shea Butter and Black Soap

This is a gentle scrub made with apricot seeds and has a light shea butter scent. I use it twice a week and it was very compatible with my normal to dry skin. It did the trick in removing impurities and dead skin cells but didn't feel abrasive on my face and neck or leave me with that tight dried out feeling. (8oz for $20)

Carina Organics Skin Cream

Definitely a must-have for winter or those with sensitive skin. This body cream is stacked with certified organic plant, vegetable and fruit extracts, replenishing essential oils and nutrients to hydrate dry skin within minutes. Good as a hand cream too and comes in a sweet citrus scent or unscented. ($15)

Arayuwa Ground Tumeric

Tumeric is an anti-inflammatory and has incredible healing properities. This spice goes well in curries, soups and rice dishes. For me, I add a sprinkle of turmeric into my lemon water every morning. Gives the body a good flush, enhances digestion and kick starts my day right. ($3.75)
