Bring It On: The Musical - $25 Rush Seats!

I can barely remember the plot of the movie, 'Bring It On'. I vaguely remember Kirsten Dunst as a cheerleader and the satiric twist on cheer life. I probably can't remember because the movie came out over 12 years ago! Feel old now? With a FOUR direct-to-video sequels and now we have the MUSICAL. Oh yes.
Bring It On: The Musical is actually a whole lot of fun. As long as you don't walk in expecting a complex plotline a la Les Miserables - you will be fine. It's a story of an underdog cheerleading squad from Jackson High trying their hardest to topple their elite and evil rivals from Truman. Along the way you get to bask in some girl power storylines, social media references, watch a good girl go bad and catch some serious hip-hop moves.

Blowout Party @ Shagg Salon + Aqua Light!

***Congratulations to our winners*** - The Contest is NOW Closed:
Erin Atkinson, Ruslana Krantman, Allison Lee, Aine Magennis, Cindy Zimmer!

A sponsored hip + urban girl post.

We’ve all had our share of bad hair days. I know they’re impossible to eliminate, but I’m really hoping to minimize the chance. I would love to find a product that doesn’t weigh my hair down.

Our friends at Pantene Pro-V have formulated the Aqua Light collection featuring a lightweight shampoo; conditioner and a weightless conditioning shake to provide lightweight nourishment to hair - hello me!).

I’m happy to finally find a conditioner that doesn’t leave residue and the new clean-rinse formula breaks up easily upon rinsing, releasing the conditioning ingredients into my hair.

The conditioning shake is a leave-in product that you shake and spray. The two formulas combine to create a lightweight conditioner that protects your hair against heat damage.

Want to try the new Aqua Light collection for yourself?

We’re inviting a limited number of our readers for a complimentary blowout, snacks, drinks and a swag bag of goodies on:

Wednesday April 4th, 2012 @ Shagg Salon
102 Scollard Street, Toronto
7-9 PM

Join us for a hair makeover with Pantene Pro-V’s new Aqua Light collection. You’ll be pampered by the Pantene team including Pantene Consulting Stylist for Canada and Shagg co-owner, Justin German.

Sounds like fun?

You bet it is.

Click now to enter for your chance to land on our VIP list! If you’re not one of our lucky guests, not to worry. Stay tuned for more exciting things happening at Hip Urban Girl with Pantene Pro-V.

John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Event

This post is sponsored by Kao Canada Inc.

Wait! Sure, the weather is showing signs of spring but before you take off that cute hat and unveil your luscious locks, is your colour up to par?

We turn our pretty heads to colour care expert, John Frieda to find out about their newest revolutionary product, Precision Foam Colour. This premium home colour kit allows you to get salon-precise results quickly for both root touchups and overall colour.

All Foam Hair Colourants are not created equal!

What we especially love about this product is that hair-colouring at home is now possible without holding mirrors at awkward angles and leaving a hot mess behind. The easy to apply, non-drip foam formula is thick and rich and lathers up almost like shampoo. The end result is fool-proof hair colour and shine - from the back of the head, roots to hairline!

Opening up the kit, we found the Colourant, Precision Foam Colour, after-colour conditioner, gloves and an instruction booklet.
24 Salon-Quality Shades - How to Chose Yours?

Chose from natural-looking shades ranging from bombshell blondes to flattering brunettes to sophisticated redheads.
Warm Skin Tone:
If you have warm skin undertones (golden/yellow), go for the gold and select shades that are darker than your skin such as caramel and bronze. Avoid black hair which will wash you out or blonde shades which will turn you into a carrot.
Cool Skin Tone:
If you have undertones that are pink or blue, you are super cool and should go with a ash blonde or ash brown shade. If your hair is naturally dark, burgundies and black-brown shades will compliment your natural skin. Avoid gold, copper and auburn unless you want to clash with the spring tulips.

What shade is perfect for you?
My preferred colour is "dark natural brown" which compliments my warm tanned complexion. Check out what yours is by visiting the John Frieda Shade Selector site.

Get Your Samples!
The John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Collection is now available for $14.99 at your local drugstore but we want you to try it out first - on us!
Drop by Sherway Gardens on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11 and look for the John Frieda Precision Foam live billboard in the west wing in front of Scotch & Soda. We will be there with the John Frieda Team giving out complimentary sample cards so come by and say hello!
